It's been a week to forget in strikeout prop land, but two straight winning weeks leading up to this one at least gave us some cushion. Let's finish the week strong and build some momentum with my three favorite K props for Friday's MLB slate.
What better way to get out of a hole than to start with a plus-money prop? Graham Ashcraft has gone under this number in four of his last five starts and seven of his last nine, and he managed only two Ks against the Washington Nationals in his lone start against them this season.
The Nats have been especially stingy against opposing pitchers this year, as they've recorded the second-fewest strikeouts in the league. Take the under at a big price.
Quinn Priester has gone 2-1 in his first three MLB starts, but that doesn't tell the full story. The 22-year-old has given up 16 earned runs in 15.2 innings, and he's recorded a 17.8 percent strikeout percentage. Now he has to face a Milwaukee Brewers team that just put up 16 hits and 14 runs against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. The plus-money price is just a bonus here.
Let's make it 3-for-3 on plus-money props, shall we?
The Minnesota Twins have been the best team to fade in strikeout bets all year, as they've recorded the most Ks in MLB by nearly 50. Merrill Kelly has been fantastic this season with his 3.23 ERA and career-best 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings, and this will be the easiest matchup he'll face all year. Let's roll with the over here.
